Perfect family holidays in Tuscany
Who needs the sea, if he can stay in Podere Palazzina? At least that is our conclusion, we do not find the Tuscan coast very attractive, but with 3 kids, we do not want to give up on water altogether. We spent 2 great weeks of vacation in the ground floor apartment, which was for the five of us more than enough space. It is - as is the apartment on the first floor - restored with great attention to detail and to its origin, and furnisched comfortably and tastefully. Outside, you can find a shady or sunny spot, depending on the time of day . Especially nice is the evening sun and the view over the pool to the fields and the distant wooded hills. This part of Tuscany is secluded and more quiet than the "Tuscany strongholds" in the north - and just as beautiful! Thilo was a wonderful host, baking pizza on a mountain stream hiking up tree house-building was always something going on. The only downside: we have only "made it" a fraction of the excursions we had planned - the house was enough vacation! Many thanks! And see you soon! Elisabeth and Norbert July 27, 2012

Holiday of a special kind
Our base on the southern edge of Tuscany was a wonderful place. Our 5 kids especially enjoyed the pool and the pizza oven, the parents the peace of nature on the beautiful terraces. We should also mention the tasteful interiors. We felt a fiddle. Also, the second time it will not be boring, since there are always new things to discover. The location of the house is ideal for excursions to many beautiful Italian cities of Tuscany and Umbria ...

For a long time we will remember ...
We - a group of architecture students from Aachen - were guests in this house in the summer of 2012. We had an incredibly nice time there and would at any time chose it again. We had the whole place to ourselves with about 20 people. The property enjoys a wonderful location in the middle of the countryside attached to a hillside overlooking the fields. To the nearest village are a few kilometres, and we enjoyed the seclusion very much. The house is in very good condition, the interior rooms, the bathrooms and grounds have been lovingly restored and expanded. In addition there are wonderful details like the cave-like niches in the rocks next to the house, an intact stone oven (in which we have baked the best pizza of our lives - with the active help of the landlord) or the cool wine cellar, that is also dug into the rock (used by the host for storing wine - wine we were allowed to try one or the other times :)). The host / owner was responsive the whole time when we've had questions, and also supplied us with vegetables from local farmers. A few more things: beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. (Both kitchens). The pool is clean, well maintained and big enough. The access road is a white road reaching fropm Onano. Onano offers shopping for basic supplies. Parking for at least 3 cars are is available (we were there with 4 cars) The surroundings offer with locations like Sorano, the lake(Bolsena) etc. many recreational opportunities. A very firm recommendation for families and small groups! Dear Thilo, we are sorry that the review comes so late :), we want to once again thank you for the great time, the beautiful evenings and the interesting conversations, stories and impressions! Especially, of course, for the good, delicious wine! :) We will remember you and your home for a long time! We hope we were not too tiring.. Many greetings from Germany (.. this writes Carl to you. We are now finished with our studies and are again scattered over the whole country / world.) I hope to be a next time!(translated from german)

A memorable experience
The holiday home Podere Palazzina is beautifully nestled in the countryside of the Maremma and delighs in his quaint way every artistic minded people. The property with its Etruscan caves lies in a beautiful garden, lovingly designed with its rich flower borders. The apartments are original and furnished in style, being above the local standards. With my Golden Retriever I felt in good hands within the family / friendly atmosphere. Here I experienced two relaxing weeks in early summer and had sufficient inspiration and leisure to succumb to my literary career. Evelyn von Wietersheim (05/03/2014)

Peace, nature, the spirits soar, best allround ….
Perfect Directions from Rome Fiumicino airport to the house. Facilities: bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, loving, very clean and well maintained, proper style, attention to detail. Fantastic quiet for sleeping. Plenty of space. Best catering service with regard to allergies and intolerances. Environmentally considerate care of the pool, own water source. Ancient Etruscan cave in which we have as a group, sung and created pottery. Old restored pizza oven, where pizza was actually made. Well lit wonderful seminar room, perfectly suited for meditation and group work. Lovely walks in the area. No 1/2 hour to Bolsena lake for swimming. Extremely good value for money! Can recommend it warmly to families or groups, who value a loving, relaxing, earth respecting holiday home, and with a host, that takes very good care of his guests. (06/09/2014 Gerlinde)

Sheltered from wind, imbedded into the rolling hills of Tuscany, this lovingly restored property offers heavenly peace, own, delicious spring water (!), historic ambience and excellent Tuscan cuisine to its guests - Pure relaxation! In the morning one wakes to the ringing of bells from the grazing sheep and to the smell of espresso, while at the wood-fired pizza oven the crickets sing you to sleep under a starlit night. The house and its surroundings have preserved the character of the old Tuscan landscape, meadows and forests lure to wanderings in nature and picturesque towns line the streets to Bolsano-lake where a half hour drive away for swimming. The host and his team leave no matter how quietly expressed culinary desire open and use and provide excellent olive oil, local cheeses and wines. A spacious group room, a large Etruscan cave and many beautiful garden areas can accommodate groups of up to 15 people. The time in paradise was unfortunately far too quickly - thank you for your tireless Thilo, loving care (Geri)!
Already during the preparations I could remember how careful the owner took care of the needs of its guests. Perfect directions from the airport through the beautiful countryside of Lazio directly to the house. A wonderfully quiet, lovingly renovated old Italian house covered with wine and ivy welcomed us. With a view to precision were the bathrooms and kitchens and bedrooms decorated, and without mosquitoes. The pool and the idyllic terrace made me quickly forget the stress of everyday life. Super suitable for meditation and our group work was the Seminar room with windows that gave the free view of nature.
We were treated to Italian culinary delights at its best, all special requests (allergies, intolerances) seemed like no problem. In addition, surprised us the landlord with specialties of the area and a Pizza Night, making pizzas according to our ideas in the old restored pizza oven. For morning walks to greet the sun, the surrounding paths are ideal. In about 30 minutes we were on the Bolsena lake for swimming. Italy at its best, many thanks to Mr. Brauer!
